Chapter 7 – Phase II: Unlock

Once you have soothed your adrenal glands during the first two days of the week, it is time to unlock the stored fat and build muscle. This is what day 3 and 4 or phase II will do for you.

During phase II, you will be eating a high protein diet, which is low in carbohydrate and low in fat. Foods include those that promote the health of the liver, including onions, lemons, and leafy greens. You will also be consuming low-glycemic vegetables that are high in carnitine and alkalizing in nature.

If you are planning on losing 20 pounds or less, your portion sizes will be as follows:

Vegetables – Unlimited and phase-appropriate, including, arugula, asparagus, beans, broccoli, cabbage, celery, collard greens, cucumbers, endive, scallions, kale, leeks, any lettuce except iceberg, mushrooms, mustard greens, onions, peppers, radish, rhubarb, shallots, spinach, Swiss chard, spirulina and watercress.
